On 21 September at Lewisham Polish Centre, a unique cultural event will take place – Beyond Fashion & Art. The initiative, led by Bożena Krasowska, a multidisciplinary artist and cultural organiser, aims to combine the worlds of fashion and art openly and creatively.
The idea was born spontaneously during a meeting with Agnieszka Sova and Kamila Krzyżaniak.“Next to us stood Kamila’s beautiful painting, ‘Prada,’ which became the flagship piece of the exhibition. That’s when we decided to combine fashion with art and create something beyond what London Fashion Week usually offers,” recalls Krasowska.
The event will take place in parallel with London Fashion Week, but in a more accessible and informal format. In addition to an exhibition of paintings and photography, there will also be an art auction, with proceeds supporting the Lewisham Polish Centre. This charity organisation relies on donations and community support.
Around 13 artists will participate, a mix of amateurs and professionals. – “This time, we also opened up to artists of other nationalities. The entire event will be conducted in English,” emphasises the organiser. Beyond Fashion & Art is already the third edition of the project at Lewisham Polish Centre, but each edition has its own theme and character. – “I want participants to see that the world of art is not closed off and not reserved only for ‘posh people,’ but for everyone. A kind word or a conversation is a wonderful way to support artists,” adds Krasowska.
Beyond Fashion & Art will take place on 21 September 2025 at Lewisham Polish Centre. Admission is free.
