Ruth Asawa’s solo exhibition on view at David Zwirner Gallery features many beautifully executed 2-D works on paper, in addition to her epic “metal-woven” sculptures. For sure Asawa’s works demand the artist’s dedication to the time-consuming processes.
Drift Studio is bringing several mesmerizing and though-provoking installations to The Shed as well as a selection of new sculptures to Pace Gallery.
Scherezade Garcia’s exhibition titled Stories of Wander: when the sea is my land is on view at Praxis Gallery. Paulina Olowska’s Haus Proud solo exhibition at Metro Pictures Gallery is a new series of paintings and a video work that adapt imagery from artist’s ever-increasing collection of vintage fashion advertisements and photographs to continue her longstanding interest in expanding the representation of women in art history. Sadly, it is the final exhibition at Metro Pictures before its permanent closure at the end of the year.
The Art Show’s mission is to bring together the country’s top galleries to showcase curated exhibitions of both historical and contemporary works. The fair organized by ADAA focuses on works by artists of national and international origins that represent variety of genres and practices.
